Chioma Agwuegbo/Chuka (which ever is easier) is a graduate of Mass Communication from Ebonyi State University, in Nigeria. Her background is in radio, having worked as a duty continuity announcer and presenter for various radio stations before moving on to work as a researcher, scriptwriter and producer of radio drama for the BBC World Service Trust, all in Nigeria.
Now studying for an MA at Birmingham City University, Chioma is intrigued by social media and how it affects/influences governance as well as the relationship with concepts of social capital, open data, and intelligent/big societies.
She’s an aspiring poet, a contributor to various media and blogs as the Fairy GodSister.
This website is exploring the relationship between social media, citizen participation in governance, and accessibility to leadership. Case in point? Nigeria’s April 2011 elections where social media tools and platforms were utilized extensively.
Welcome to Chioma’s Lab, and the Social Media and Governance project!
